Founded by Gabrielle Thomas in 2004, offers My Beauty services and workshops on common teenage concerns. With these concerns in mind, the organizers have some activities to enable such young people. Hold workshops about proper care and seminar on nutrition, fitness and exercise, proper posture and mannerisms. They also tackle important issues such as managing your finances and set goals.
Thomas, a graduate of UCLA, is a cosmetologist and esthetician. She recognized the needs of young people and that's why this organization founded. She believes that a good appearance is a factor in having a good feeling about one's self. Furthermore, my beauty, not only deals with physical beauty, but more so at the self-esteem. According to her, with a low self-esteem, leading to negative feelings about themselves and that a teenager can influence opinions and decisions. On the other hand, if the teen is (already feel good about himself or herself) then it is very likely, are that he (or she) will have a positive view of things as would have been going.
My beauty passes through 10 cities and does in 100 days in the summer. One stop on the tour through California, La Puente. Teenage boys and girls from La Puente Boys and Girls Club enjoyed pampered and uplifting seminars for free! My beauty has a mobile studio, which is very nicely done for the joy of youth. Dr. Sheri G. Feldman, a dermatologist who lectures on how to acne-free. They also showed how to correct for the face and skin care.
A course on self-defense is also included in the tour. Before the gates of the mobile studio Marcella King, a self-defense instructor. Through their lectures and demonstrations, young people learn to draw like the perpetrator, and how to recognize physical and verbal attacks.
