While Canada is not prominent in the manufacture of automobiles, the country did not have artists who are enthusiastic about the subject of automotive FIG.
One of these is Paul Chenard. Paul studied at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design with a BComDes. Graphic Design in 1983. He is now employed by Nova Scotia Communications, a graphic artist. Communications Nova Scotia is a government relations industry, whose responsibility is to the image of Nova Scotia, the World project. However, cars are his passion since childhood. He spent countless hours drawing each object mounted on wheels. He collected toy cars and even she melted down to create new ones. Paul is still collecting toys Racing cars, racing board games, vintage magazines and books about the history of racing. His art is specialized in the history of Grand Prix races in particular sports and GT. While, like most automotive artist, he provides enough detail to identify the car and the race, his ultimate goal is the feeling of competition, which the viewer experiences to describe precisely the race. Gordon Drysdale is another Canadian, dedicated to the automotive art. Gordon was born in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada, and his artistic talent and love of the automobile are evident in his early childhood.
In 1988, Gordon decided to devote his full energies to art. He worked in oil, but then modified acrylic. He has also worked in other media such as watercolor, conte and pen and ink. Gordon's style is realistic as he tries to capture, to the nostalgic and historic appeal of the Automobile. Many of his images show Vintage cars in the period scenes. His works have been buying and enterprise customers, and two of his paintings are in the permanent collection of the province Ontario appears. Since 1999 Gordon has won national competition first place in the Art of the Automobile Competition sponsored by the Automotive Journalists Association of Canada. Then in 2000 He won the third national and national second in 2002.
Chris Phillips is another award-winning Canadian automotive artist. He was actually in Born in England, but his parents emigrated to Canada when Chris was a teenager and he still lives there. Chris worked for an advertising agency, but if the agency closed He took a job at a gas station. Later, Chris decided to return to school and get a degree. After graduating with a BA and MA in history, he was of a community college, first as a teacher and later worked as an administrator. After ten years, he decided to start a full-time art career. Chris is dedicated exclusively painting antique, classic, sports-racing cars of Formula 1 and Indy Cars. He received an Award of Merit of the 1996-97 Art of the Automobile Competition by the Automotive Journalists Association of Canada supported.
