Alberto Ascari was literally born in the Grand Prix. He came into this world on 13 July 1918 in Milan, Italy. His father, Antonio Ascari, Italian racing star of the Grand Prix during the 1920s. His winning streak also continued in 1953, when he won three more races for a total of nine victories, especially with two more during the year together, gave him a second consecutive World Cup. However, the unusual event in his career was his end. In 1955, the race in Monaco, he missed a corner and plunged into the sea. After recovering from shock and a broken nose, he came to Monza, where his friend Eugenio Castellotti tested a Ferrari.

Alberto's winning smile and friendly, had humble personality of love and dedication won his fans, who mourned him as a national hero. At his funeral, the front pillars of the church were draped in black with the inscription: "On the last finish Line meet, O Lord, the soul of Alberto Ascari. "
