A few weeks ago, I ordered a Daniel Defense Omega free float rail for my mid-length of 14.5 "AR-15. I did not like the stock handguards, because They heat quickly, and because I wanted the accessories to the rail mount (Vertical Foregrip, flashlight, etc.).
After my research and views on free-float rails from Troy, YHM, LaRue, and armor, and Daniel Defense, I came to the conclusion that Daniel Defense had the track for me. This was because of the price, easy installation and good reviews, I had read. Most of the free float rails from the other manufacturers require that the delta will be removed nut assembly. To mount remove, you have probably a Dremel use and cut it off, the one thing I did is not going to do. Also close to the other manufacturers come in the price, they are not as easy to install, yet they are shown to satisfy, as well as the Daniel Defense Omega.
Installation of the Omega rails was a breeze to me every 5 Was in receipt of minutes, literally. Everything that is you have to do is take your stock handguards, add the omega-rails in the city, hand protection, and pull a few screws and all the set screws. The flat head set screws add the two parts of the rail to each other and to all the head set screws attaches the rail to the delta ring (far left) in the picture.
Of how the omega-rail is the rifle was worried until I took it until the program from. This is because the only thing mounting the rail on the weapon are 4 Allen screws at the base of the Delta – ring (far left in the picture above). This gives support to the lower part of the rail, but there is nothing to hold the rail on the upper part of the delta ring (far right in photo above). One would think that you could push around the track at the upper base, but the track remains firm installed. It does not move when you give them some strong force.
After going to the area and firing a few hundred rounds, I can finally say that I approve of the Daniel Defense Omega Rail strong. He held high and do not rotate or come loose. The rail also heat much faster and much better than the stock Hand protectors. I should also mention that the target is on track first class and not scratched or mar diverses after mounting and unmounting accessories.
